I saw Inland Empire, and by the end of the three hours, I was so confused I could almost cry. I have a few vague ideas about how the plots might fit together, but really - this movie has less linear narrative than any other Lynch film.

It's powerful, it's intense, it's moving, but goddamnit I still have no idea what it was really about. If you like that kind of thing (which I do), then go and see it!

According to IMDB, the Polish version is even longer (192 mins vs 172 mins). I wonder what was cut?

Well, it appears the UK is advancing in leaps and bounds, in attempting to catch up with the civilised world.
One month ago the UK banks *finally* moved to requiring PIN numbers on bank debit and credit cards when used for EFTPOS.
And now I hear that the UK govt is going to bring in what they're calling a SNEN - Single non-emergency number.
This sounds roughly equivelent to the 131-444 number in SA.

Speaking of Australia - I saw "The Proposition" last night. An Australian western film, written by Nick Cave, set in some absolutely godforsaken frontier town. Well worth watching.

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is playing at the Odeon on Wardour street for a little while.
I have never had the chance to see this on a big screen (only fan-subbed DVDs from Japan), so I'm going to go to see it.
Would anyone else like to come along?
The catch is.. It's only playing at 1:50pm and 4:05pm, so that means I can see it tomorrow on my day off, or on the weekend with some of you.
There is an 8:50pm session, tonight only, but I can't make that.

(From the crappy Odeon webshite:)
