Is this one of those jukeboxes with several million tracks available? I assume there is a service provider somewhere with an enormous CD collection...

Yeah, it definately appeared to be polling a remote server.. Tracks available locally (ie. in some sort of LRU cache) were 50p, whereas tracks that it needed to download were £1 and required a short delay whilst it fetched them.
Still, neat idea.
