The Castle pub in Whitechapel has Deathboy, imminent starvation, and Merzbow on it.. WTF?

Is this one of those jukeboxes with several million tracks available? I assume there is a service provider somewhere with an enormous CD collection...

Yeah, it definately appeared to be polling a remote server.. Tracks available locally (ie. in some sort of LRU cache) were 50p, whereas tracks that it needed to download were £1 and required a short delay whilst it fetched them.

Still, neat idea.

Deathboy I can see but Imminent Starvation and even Merzbow? That's remarkable...

Yeah.. it had a considerable pause whilst it downloaded them.. if it already had them locally, they were half-price to play!

Merzbow on a jukebox? Sheer insanity. Maybe if you wanted to clear the pub out immediately.

I think we did manage to clear out that entire section of the pub after we'd been putting on tracks for an hour..

Yes. No-one could find the volume or 'next track' option on Alex & Joe..

Wow, that is awesome!

Now all they need is a jukebox dedicated solely to that sort of music. No point having imminent playing if it is followed by Bryan Adams or something :p
