Bad things - do they happen in threes?
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:26 pmI seem to be having a bad time for electronic devices..
Yesterday's accident was when I pulled the charging cable out of my mobile, and it promptly broke the plug. And then the phone went flat just before I reached a house inspection, and I hadn't brought any kind of dead-tree-based-map, just the satnav, and thus by the time I found the house, it was too late.
Today's casualty has been my headphones - I pulled them out of my pocket, and the plastic one on has been lost along the way. They're ancient Sony ear-plug-style headphones, but they were still working well :(
I have a pair of full-size over-ear Sennheisers, but I feel too self-concious if I wear them around on the street! I can see a visit to JB HiFi in my near future..
(The Sony headphones have been around the world several times - I bought them in Adelaide back when this style of headphone was very new.. now I think most manufacturers offer this sort. I like them because they massively isolate outside noise, plus it's easy to get a good linear response, including bass, when the headphone is directly resonating your ear canal. Heaven knows what it does to your hearing long-term, though.)
I hope there isn't a third accident coming up.
In other news: Ryan & I visited a really nice place in Thornbury today, and we've put in an application for it. I really want it, but who knows how it will go; I'd say we have a good chance, but just good, no better. :(
Now I'm sitting in the hotel, it's friday night, and I'm a bit bored. Last night was good; I'll do a proper write-up of it soon. I'm pretty tired, I'll probably see how well I can play LOTRO via mobile internet, and then head to bed in a bit.. Unless anyone has some exciting ideas for tonight? *hopeful look*
