*sigh*

Why do I always have trouble with ebay? Grrrr.

Seriously, I don't buy that much from ebay sellers.. but when I do, it seems like half the transactions I make go wrong.
This time, it's a SCSI card I purchased for about 15 pounds. It simply hasn't arrived after 10 days, and the seller hasn't responded to emails or voicemail enquiring about it, for four days.

He actually has a decent feedback rating, appears to speak English competently, and his other recent auctions look normal. No warning bells went off.. So, I'm surprised that this transaction appears to have gone wrong. Oh well, have opened a Paypal dispute, so maybe that'll get his attention.

Meh. I'd have just bought one new, except that new Adaptec cards are so unreasonably expensive.

I got caught out by a Chinaman pretending to be in London. Sadly there was no mention of this on the first page of his fgeedback :o(

Currently been waiting a month for my item.

You do seem to have incredibly bad luck with ebay...

Mind you, my purchases haven't all been smooth. When I bought Logic, the seller claimed he had some problem accepting the payment (via Paypal) and had me cancel that order and then pay an invoice he raised direct through Paypal (rather than Ebay).

The guy I bought my keyboard from found he couldn't accept my payment without upgrading his account, so he rejected it and asked me to send it via international bank transfer instead. Owing to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates - and the bank fees - this ended up costing me about £60 over the "actual" cost of the item + shipping.

The G5 ended up being a dual-1.8, not a dual-2.0 as advertised. On the other hand, it was in better condition than the listing suggested, they claimed it was a mix-up, and they knocked the price down.

Then again, more recently, I've bought some tickets (a bunch for Astrix, and one for Tool) and those were both smoother purchases than buying from "official" outlets. If only because nobody demanded my signature and a urine sample just to receive the delivery.

The only firm conclusion I can draw from this is that people, eBay, PayPal, people, banks, the interweb, Royal Mail, people, courier companies and people all suck. Mutter, grumble.

Adaptec 19160 (or 29160).
(I believe the later u320 cards are all 64bit PCI-X only?)

ah well.

I have a 2940UW in the machine currently, but it won't run the U320 Cheetah's at anything above fast-wide (ie. 20mbyte/s), which rather cripples the raid array.

I'm sure it's my fault for not using a LVD-compatible scsi card, with LVD-spec drives.

Also have a look at your feedbacks and see if there's any word or phrase used by all the ones who fuck you over.
