Yes, I hate them all.
I hate ebay because it is full of idiots.
I hate paypal because it is fundamentally shit.
I hate the pizza place down the road (Red Planet) because they have a sign out saying "ANY PIZZA", and a table of size->price. However if you go in and try to order a pizza, they tell you that they only do pizzas with two toppings or less for that price. Which isn't anything close to "ANY" by my definition! Hmph.

The ebay/paypal hatred currently comes from my last transaction, over a week ago, where i won an auction, paid for it, and the bloody seller is too incompetant to actually retrieve my payment from their paypal account. So I've paid for it, but it shows up as Unclaimed in Paypal, but because it's sent to a registered account, I can't cancel it for a month. Meanwhile the seller has asked me to pay for it *again* by sending the money to a different paypal account. Uh huh.. I wasn't born yesterday.

The good news is, I have coffee and have figured out a not-too-hacky way to integrate some stuff into my current work project.
And I managed to get OpenGL-ES running on my PSP last night. (And I had SDL running the previous night.)
Perhaps I should have just bought a GP2X instead? (Cheers to Azekeil for the link, although I'd seen mention of the GP2X elsewhere on dev forums and wondered what it was..)

[Edit: I have suggested to the seller that they should post the item to me now.. and in 30 days when I get an automatic refund for the unclaimed money (if they haven't claimed it by then) then I will happily send them the money again to their 2nd account). How much do you bet they refuse? ]

He's not incompetent, he's trying to defraud you. Forward the entire email correspondence to abuse@ebay.com and abuse@paypal.com and see if anything shakes out.

He claims that he is just an incompetant 16 year old and his paypal account broke. *sigh*

(I'm fairly sure you are meant to be 18 or older to use ebay and paypal, actually..)

I suspect he *is* just incompetant, but I'm not going to give him the benefit of the doubt enough to pay him twice. As you and I both know, he could then immediately go and claim the cash from the first account.

Not unsurprisingly, he declined my suggestion that he ship the item now, and I'll pay him to the other account when the refund comes through..

He'd have to be pretty incompetent to find PayPal hard to figure out.

Eh, good luck. Hope it isn't something you've been waiting to get your hands on for a quarter century or anything.

Nah, luckily it wasn't anything rare or expensive.

It's just annoying that I'm now out-of-pocket for a month until Paypal (hopefully) refund it. Grr.

The kid even had the cheek to ask ebay to refund him his listing cost, with the reason given as I hadn't paid!

So this is another teenaged eBay user trying to defraud you over a piece of electronic equipment...is there any way you can make a little blinky button that will pop up on your screen when you press "Bid now" for similar auctions saying "Remember what happened last time, and the time before!"

They are very very filthy.

I have a GP2X if you want to have a look / play with one. I need a new 1G SD card for it, as my camera has eaten the one I was using and shows nosigns of giving it back.

That would be cool.

I must look into the state of the SDKs for it.
