Friday: Dropped bike off at garage to be serviced. Parts for it only came in late in the day though, so don't expect to collect it again until Monday evening or Tuesday.

Friday night: Bangface - Celebrating 100 years of Opera, which was fantastic, and also very silly. Posters of Pavarotti on the walls; people encouraged to wear valkyrie masks and carry placards with vaguely ironic or satirical post-rave slogans on them, and of course a lot of nice music. Definitely have to get tickets in advance for the next one!
I haven't been clubbing properly in ages, and I haven't been out dancing in ages.. So I was happy that I was jumping around for hours, although I also realised I'm less fit than I used to be. Also, proud that I only had a pint or so of beer at the pub beforehand, and then stuck to water and caffeinated drinks. (Admittedly I then didn't sleep very well when I got back home as a result of all the caffeine.)

Saturday: In a moment of symmetrical consumerism, I purchased half a kilo of superior coffee beans, and a decent pillow. Coffee was from the Algerian coffee shop on Old Compton st that [livejournal.com profile] lusercop had recommended. They have a nice range, but are definately more expensive than the guy on Delancey street. I'll report back on the quality later in the week after I've tried some!

Saturday evening: Yummy Thai food with [livejournal.com profile] thamshere and friends. Best tasting Last Supper ever! :) (Tom, we'll miss you)
Then, headed down to Bermondsey for [livejournal.com profile] julietk's birthday party. The journey down took two hours due to crap buses, although Jo & I were greatly amused by a huge procession of sports cars that were driving past London Bridge for a solid hour, including a Mclaren F1 GTR. I presume some sort of rally was on?

Sunday: Coffee & late lunch with [livejournal.com profile] feanelwa, [livejournal.com profile] hairyears and Robert.

In a way, it's been a long weekend for me, since I had friday off work. However, it still seems like the weekend has flown by very quickly.

Delancey Street, off Camden high street. It's a one-man affair; roasts the beans on the premises.

He usually only has about eight varieties, but they're nice. I think the Algerian also stocked the same source beans.

The ones I can remember off the top of my head were:
Columbian Medellin Excelsio
Ethiopian mocha
Kenyan something-or-other
Costa Rica
Santos (Light/Dark)
Continental blend

My favourites being the columbian and kenyan, with the costa rican and ethiopian not too far behind.

WHAT ?! There's a coffee shop on Delancey Street ?? Given that I cross it at least once a day, and I've been surviving on Sainsbury's Organic blend for the last 6 months, I find this all a bit disturbing.

Details, man !

(and quick, before I shift house !!)
