Clothing sizes
Nov. 26th, 2004 05:21 pmIt's just a pathetic and oft-voiced rant, I'm sure, but: Why can't stores stock useful clothing sizes?!
I bought a couple of basic long-sleeve cotton tops yesterday.. Nothing special, just reasonably well-made, for a semi-reasonable price, without any big brand logos or whatnot on them. And, as bloody usual I had to settle for the "Medium" size, because they didn't have any smaller in the store. I wasn't buying end-of-run clothing here or anything. They had loads of every size from Medium to XXL.
Nowhere ever has a small men's size. It really annoys me. It's not like i'm stick thin or anything - I only want a SMALL, damnit.
Some day I should just borrow a sewing machine and spend eight hours adjusting all my tops, and the trousers that haven't been attacked with scissors already, too.
In other news.. I was wondering if anyone has advice for ways to increase contrast when shooting colour or monochrome film in the boring grey days we have currently?
My tripod has seen better days (it's at least three times my age, probably more) so I'm planning on picking up a better one soon, and then getting back into some night photography - plenty of contrast in the city at night.
