I finally have a proper DVD rip with English subs of Ghost in the Shell : Innocence, (full-quality, AC3 audio, etc.)
I know a few other people are interested, so I wondered if people would be up for a viewing night at my place sometime? On offer are comfy sofas and surround sound, and of course a hugely long awaited movie.

I'd love to wait until the movie is released in the UK, but seeing as it's probably 6-12 months away, I don't think I'll manage to last that long. I'll go and see it in the cinema when it comes out eventually, there's no doubt about that, but i'm afraid i'm too impatient to wait, esp when discussion boards and newsgroups are already lighting up with other people talking about it after seeing it (in Japan or America) :(

(Damn the MPAA!)

Good grief, you stop paying attention to rumours for a couple of years and Oshii goes and makes Ghost in the Shell 2.

I would be very interested in obtaining a copy.

probably a stupid question but as i am in the US right now, are there any DVDs that I should look for in order to bring back to the UK.... manga, unusual, rare treats.... etc

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not too uptodate on what's been released where for most things, and as far as anime is concerned, Japan is usually the better source for such things. (Although navigating amazon.co.jp via babelfish is painful at best!)
