Yeah, this bed and mattress was certainly closer to the cheaper rather than expensive end of the scale..
The $200 mattresses were *horrible* (erm, kind of like the one I had in London) but the $400 ones are decent. You can spend LUDICROUS amounts of money on mattresses if you want to though - like $9000! I really couldn't tell much difference between $400-500 ones and $5000 though, so figured I'd save the money for now :)

The bed is nice.. solid and I like the wood and metal use, but also can be deconstructed to be moved without much hassle as well. I figure I can always upgrade that in a few years if I buy a place and thus don't expect to be moving for a while.

Am so looking forward to it though! I've been sleeping on spare beds, couches, sofa-beds, etc for six months!
