Finally, I move in.

Hurrah!
I have keys to the new house, and am writing this entry from within it.
The house is shiny! (Well, the polished floorboards are, anyway..)
There's a fern tree growing outside my bedroom window. The house has aircon, and the kitchen has a dishwasher. The bathroom has a good shower and heatlamps. There are lots of power-points and a gas cooker. It feels nice here.

of course, I'm writing this while sitting on the floor, because so far I have precisely two bags of stuff here, and am waiting for a delivery guy to turn up with my bed.. so I can drive out and get the rest of my stuff from S&J's spare room, where there is a car-load of cardboard boxes and stuff.
Even after that, I still won't have any tables or chairs though. Hmm. Wonder if there'll still be time to buy some later today? (Somehow I doubt it, unless there's late-night-shopping at a furniture warehouse somewhere tonight)

I'll be back in Adelaide this Saturday 20th, by the way - I'll be flying in, and hopefully driving out a few days later with a vanload of stuff, and damnit, I will prioritise getting my motorbike in there over everything else! (OK, so the desk and wardrobe are fairly important too..)

I'll be back in Adelaide again from the 2nd to 4th of November.
And back again from the 24-25th of November.

Sub-optimal listening arrangement

I have four speakers, an amp, and an ipod. And a fairly large room.
Ryan brought some decks, a mixer, and a couple of crates of vinyl.

I'm sitting at the far end of the room, on the floor, leaning against the wall, listening to Dryft echoing out of the speakers a good 12m away.
We should probably think about getting some furniture soon.. Either that, or a lot of egg cartons and some superglue.

In other news: This house is seriously close to town. The 96 tram gets you into Burke Street in no time, and I reckon I could walk to work easily too (currently that's in Carlton, basically the next suburb over). The house feels big when there's not so much in it. However my bed finally arrived (at ~8:30pm grr), so I'll go and assemble it now.

We don't have a fridge here yet either, so I better drink up before this pilsner warms up.
