Looks like a nice day out. I've been thinking that for the past few hours, in fact.
Time to do something about it. I'm going to cycle over to Fruitstock. I'm not too interested in any of the bands playing, but it's something to do, and I should certainly get the exercise.

(The cynic in me says: Watch for another post in several hours saying "My bike was nicked!" - I will be taking two locks minimum though.)

Didn't quite feel like socialising at fruitstock, so just rode down to Angel with a combination of Leonard Cohen and Mlada Fronta on the iRiver, picked up some fine coffee at Tinderbox, and browsed Borders for a long time. I then went on a random ride around Islington, and finally investigated St Pauls Shrubbery (I used to wonder everytime I walked down St Pauls road), discovering that it doesn't contain any shrubs at all - but it's a nice hidden greenspace, although one wonders what on earth the swimming-pool-sized empty hole in the ground is meant to be. (I imagine that in winter it probably does a rather good impression of an actual pool, seeing as how it has a concrete floor and no drainage.)

I seem to be accidentally turning into a recluse.

Borders reminded me that I'd like to borrow a few books from people. They're all books I own, only in the wrong country (Australia).
Firstly, I've been praising a couple of books, and would like to lend them to [livejournal.com profile] lusciousa. These are Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman, and Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks.
I would also like to borrow the third book in Stephen Donaldson's Gap saga, as I've been slowly re-reading the saga. The book is the Gap into Power: A dark and hungry god arises.
