It looks like a genuine BBC article, but the URL is ends in .stm.htm, which is unlike every other article on BBC News, and I can't locate the given article by searching bbc.news.co.uk either. Hmmm.....
That IP address doesn't resolve to news.bbc.co.uk - instead going to baserape.com

I guess it's a hoax.

Bike unhappiness

Bored at work.
Unmotivated.
Although at least I am making progress on this long project, but I'll be really glad when it's over.


I'm still really frustrated by my inability to get my motorbike working; esp as the weather is now fine most of the time, and I'd like to ride to Brighton this weekend, and up to Cambridge next weekend. My frustration, anger and disappointment is now reaching the point where I'm likely to do something stupid, like walk into a Honda dealership with my credit cards and point at a new CBR. *sigh* I just want my old bike to work :(

Bike stuff

Hmm, have just found a set of four carbs from a GT550 for sale on ebay, apparently in clean and perfect working order.
These are not off my model of bike, but dammit, they look similar enough that I've bought them! If they're close enough I might be able to combine them with my dodgy carbs to get a set that works, or works well enough, anyway. They're both off 550cc engines with similar power output, so I'm hoping the jetting is similar enough.. (or have compatible jets..)
I rung the seller up, and he's agreed to sell them immediately, and also waiver his normal 5-day-clearing period - he'll courier them tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll get them on saturday. Which gives me all weekend to try and modify them to fit, and perhaps even have a working bike in time for Brighton on Monday...

OK, so I'm unneccesarily getting my hopes up here, but hey, it's worth a shot. And what's £60 on a set of possibly-useless carbs, when I'm about ready to blow 2000 on a whole new bike?
