One piece of advice people have given in regards to trying to sleep was to read something.. something boring.
As of late last night, I now know far more than I ever wanted to about colour gamuts, Adobe RGB, sRGB (type Ia and III), Lab CIE/XYZ, perceptual intent, relative colourmetric intent, absolute/saturation/graphic/etc intent, ICC, ICM, IT8, Linear/gamma/log colour correction curves, input/output/display/print profiles, etc etc.
The upshot is: I did get to sleep a bit last night :)

Still haven't lost that dull ache behind my eyes though.

I received a 419 Nigerian-style scam spam today; (you know, the sort where some guy says he's got 50 million dollars in some 3rd world country and wants your help to get it out.. etc)

Anyway, the name of the guy sending the spam is disturbingly similar to my landlord, and his email address syedakhmat@ummah.org has a domain that is almost the same as my landlord's wife's name, Umme.

I find this highly amusing, but actually I guess these names (Syed, Umme, Ummah, Akhtar, Asmat, etc) are just common names in the middle east.

I'm now the proud owner of a Nikon D70 (first, and probably terrible, photo available here: wattle-like flowers.).

Would anyone like to buy my old point&shoot digital camera?

If no-one is too interested, it'll go up on ebay thursday or friday night.

I also have a Sigma 24-70mm F3.5 auto-focus aspherical apochromatic lens, to suit Nikon cameras, which will be going on ebay too. (The D70 came with an 18-70 ED-IF DX lens, which is better and covers the same focal range). Also, a Nikkor 135mm F2.8 prime AIS lens + case, manual focus.
