Glade mini-review
Jul. 19th, 2004 02:27 pmI'm back from Glade, which was held in the Wasing wildlife estate, near Aldermaston.
It was an absolutely excellent festival, and we were truly sad to go home at the end.
The weather was just about perfect, the location was nice, it wasn't over-filled with people like Glastonbury (Glastonbury would have had about triple the population in that amount of area), and was organised well.
I've been to a number of other festivals like this, but they have always been purely trance music (and an ambient "chill out" music area). Glade went beyond this, and featured a psytrance stage, a prog/psy/other trance stage, an ambient chill-out zone, a main stage featuring various IDM and techno artists, a breaks tent, and a couple of just generally whacky stages we didn't spend much time at.
A highlight of the festival for me was seeing Simon Posford do a two hour live set as Hallucinogen, then immediately followed (at a different area) by RDJ doing a two and a half hour epic live set as Aphex Twin!
I took a load of photos.. I'll get them developed and scanned soon. There's some more Glastonbury photos on the first roll too.
