Carrie discovered a nice pub the other week. It's on St Pauls Road, called the Alwynne Castle. A bunch of us went there again on Friday since it was such a nice evening, and drunk raspberry beer in the beer garden.
On Saturday we went to Abney Park cemetary, and wandered around for a couple of hours. It's so quiet in there you could barely believe it's still in London. I finished off my black and white film, and then shot a roll of Konica IR750 infrared film. I'll be interested to see how it turns out (if at all!).
Carrie took some pics with my little digital.. I'll put those up online soon, and the Nikon ones in a couple of weeks once I've had them developed, scanned, and so on..
Saturday night was pre-slimes-drinks at
lusciousa's place, then Slimelight. I stayed for a few hours then popped home for bed - having agreed that people could come back to mine in the morning when they were done with slimes. So, I hopped out of bed in the morning feeling fine, and went down to chat with the recovering munters in the lounge :)
I popped in and out making breakfast, coffee, I did some weeding outside, etc.
I think I should do this more often! I feel fine on Sunday, and have friends around to chat to, but I have no obligation to entertain them, nor do I even have to get up to let them in. Works for me!
Speaking of the garden now: I felt motivated, and planted some tulips. I then went on a cleaning spree, and removed all the rubbish from the backyard, and weeded the front yard. I filled a big "garden waste only" bin with weeds from the front yard, and didn't even start on the back! The grass is still way too high though.. I need a whipper-snipper or small lawn mower I think.
I was wondering.. Since I have two gardens, with grass and plants and stuff, but I'm hopeless with gardening, I wondered if anyone would like to share it with me? You'd be welcome to come around and plant stuff, tend to things, whatever really. If you grow edible stuff, you'd be welcome to eat it too.
Am currently browsing the Argos catalogue for BBQs, outdoor tables, and so forth. However, I've been brutally distracted by the men's shavers section. There are about four pages of near-identical Philips shavers, and I've been trying to work out what the difference is between them. They range from £12 to £188 in price, but the features are extremely similar.
For instance, as far as I can tell, the difference between the HQ7830, HQ7850 and HQ7870 is simply the number of LEDs on the battery indicator. (One is just 'flat/charged', the next is 'flat/partially-charged/full', and the next has five leds to give a 0/20/40/60/80/100 percent charged indication). The price difference is an astronomical 60 quid though!
Out of interest, can anyone here give me a comparison between Braun and Phillishave, in terms of how well they shave your face? I've always had Braun shavers, and fairly basic/cheap ones at that. What advantages would I see (if any, and I'm skeptical) in swapping to a newer, vastly more expensive, shaver? What are the pros and cons of the rotary-disc system of Philips, compared to the sideways-shuffling Braun?
