Misc update

I've bought tickets to Tribeadelic, an outdoor psytrance festival that runs for four days, around new year's eve. It's located a couple of hours north of Melbourne.. There's a few people from Adelaide coming along too - would anyone else like to join us?

My car is being a waste of insurance and registration, without me actually moving it at all. I got a jump-start from Ryan this morning and went off to buy a new battery, and recycled the old one - it was a few years old and had been maltreated. Bicycle and motorbike are still running fine, thank you, and are still my preferred methods of transport.. but for outdoor camping festivals, reasonably-sized AWD cars are definitely the way forward.

Not too much else to report back. I like living in Melbourne, although I could do with knowing a few more people, and I miss people back in London, and some in Adelaide.

We are looking forward to seeing you and feeling the warmth of the sun!

I would!! Spring me a flight over? ;)

Now I've lived in London for about two months, I am obviously qualified to speak for all of London and say that we miss you too.

(Although seriously, you wouldn't like the weather at the moment.)

I like it here - it's cooled down to mid-20s which is much more bearable!

I visited an old factory full of rusting gears that were larger than I am! And they had a brick-identifying wall with all different sorts of bricks in it.

How was the haunted house?

I wish it was mid-20s here, as opposed to being only 6 degrees.

Rusting gears sound cool.. have you uploaded any photos of them yet? Brick-identifying wall sounds fascinating too.

The haunted house was not very haunted, but it was full of dark small passageways that you had to crawl through and also, cake with an Alice in Wonderland style "eat me" / "don't eat me" by it and also, sherry. Lots of strange pictures on the walls and in random books too. I wonder if I can turn my secret passageway into something like that?

Woohoo, can't wait :D

The Facebook event for Tribeadelic (hmm, I think I got the names mixed up somewhere along the line?? eek) promises nearby bodies of water too... yay!

Yeah, the Undera river - I think I sent you a link to the site on google maps?

[identity profile] pond876.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah but now I speak with some measure of confidence for it *actually* containing water!

Cheers! That saturday looks.. hectic.. already, but will see how things work out. (Friends' wedding reception is that night, my calendar reminds me.. although I already went to one of their receptions on the other side of the world.. Is making it to two considered greedy?)

Hmm.. maybe if you go to another reception you should buy another gift? You're supposed to spend roughly the same on them as they do on you...
